If you’re disappointed that Levi Johnson recently proved in Playgirl that he’s got as much between his legs as between his ears, then maybe you should shift your attention from Ricky Holly/NoWood to somebody who deserves your attention: Billy Currington.
He’s the country singer whose current single “(God is great, beer is good and) People are Crazy” is about as pithy as it gets.
Pithy, not pissy. Pissy would be Adam Lambert, who is blaming everyone from Out magazine to homophobia for the mismanagement of his career. That, if you think about it takes some balls and puts him on the fast track to becoming the Sarah Palin of the gay/music world.
Apart from his instantly hummable songs, what distinguishes Mr Currington is that he is part of the current crop of hunky country metrosexuals. No that’s not an oxymoron. A country metrosexual is a country crooner who flaunts his big guns and gym toned bod and looks like he stepped out of the pages of Details magazine because he knows that the girls go crazy for a sharp dressed man. Tim McGraw and Keith Urban are the most conspicuous of the breed.
But Mr. Currington must be doing something right because he’s quickly becoming a fixture on that list. His video for the song “Must be doin’ somethin’ right” shows him completely comfortable with using his “On the Waterfront” sexuality, pushing the envelope about as far as any mainstream white male singer has since Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” video.
And push he does. Unlike in “Wicked Game”, where the camera devours and fetishizes Helena Christiansen as she shows off her body for–the male gaze and– Mr Isaaks, in ” Must be doin’ something right,” the camera devours Mr Currington’s buff bod which is being shown off not for his video lover but for the female gaze.

When you watch this video you will be struck by how rare this display of male sexuality is in music videos while the female equivalent is almost obligatory for most female superstars, no matter their race, genre or, in Mariah’s case, age.
After his preposterous over the top gay underground visual extravaganza on the American Music Awards was roundly criticized, Mr Lambert fired back that there was a double standard being applied to him because he was gay , pointing to Madonna and Brittney as examples of performers who have used overtly sexual imagery in their performances, including a same sex kiss for instance, without having to face the wrath of the censors.
He’s only partly right. Yes, conspicuous (and caricatured) displays of gay male sexuality on network television (but not cable) make America uncomfortable in 2009. (So do “wardrobe malfunctions.” Just ask Janet.) But he’s fundamentally doing somethin’ wrong when he refuses to see that it is also true that America is just now becoming comfortable with routinely fetishizing the male anatomy for the consumption of the female viewer, with (who would have guessed) country metrosexuals leading the way. (See also the ads for Emporio Armani underwear featuring David Beckham.)
It’s going to take some time before America embraces Mr. Lambert kissing keyboardists let alone orally sodomizing dancers. In the meanitme, Adam shut up and record a few good songs and an album that doesn’t get panned by critics.

Adam Lambert has caught the entertainment industry off-guard. Last Sunday during the American Music Awards on ABC, this “American Idol” runner-up shocked millions around the world with a sexually charged, sexually explicit performance of his new single, “For Your Entertainment.”
During the performance, Lambert “walks” some of his male dancers on a leash, gropes another female dancer’s naughty bits, simulates oral sex with a male dancer, simulates oral sex again with a female dancer (just in case we missed it the first time), grabs his crotch and finally, at the end of his performance, makes out with his male keyboardist.
OMG!!!
Needless to say, ABC was flooded with thousands of phone call complaints.
Lambert holds a different defense against the controversy. He claims that the only reason it’s turned into such a big deal is because he is gay. Even Barbara Walters has called ABC’s response to Lambert’s performance “absurd,” a response that included cancelling Lambert’s performance the next day on “Good Morning America.”
But does anybody remember that time on the MTV Video Music Awards when Madonna made out with Britney and Christina? But that wasn’t offensive–that was hot! Right?
So what do you guys think? What’s with all the controversy surrounding Lambert’s performance? Is it because he’s gay or is it just because he went too far over the top? Is there truly a double standard today with man-on-man action versus female-on-female?

I Aftonbladet läser jag om American Idol-stjärnan Adam Lambert som hånglat med en av killarna i bandet och juckat mot ansiktet på en dansare under ett uppträdande. Det blev för mycket för American Music Awards, som klippte bort scenerna. Lambert hävdar att det är diskriminering.
“Det finns en stor dubbelmoral, kvinnliga popartister har gjort sådana här provokativa saker i åratal och det faktum att jag är man, och att jag blir censurerad och diskriminerad kan vara ett problem.”
Det finns nämligen en uppenbar skillnad mellan när Madonna och Britney hånglar, och när Adam och hans dansare gör det: Tjejer som hånglar med varandra stör inte genusbalansen riktigt lika mycket. Kvinnor som hånglar med varandra är fortfarande sexuellt tillgängliga för heterosexuella mäns fantasier, och det ses som en förmildrande omständighet. Män som hånglar med varandra har inte samma grundförutsättning. När lesbiska inte tas på allvar tas bögar på alldeles för stort allvar; som ett hot.
Märkligt nog syns inte de sedvanliga antifeministerna till i kommentarsfältet. De som brukar vara så snabba att dyka på allt som handlar om mansförtryck och mansdiskriminering har inte hunnit komma på hur de ska anklaga den feministiska konspirationen för att förtrycka manlig sexualitet. Kanske är det för att de besväras av det faktum att män kan vara förtryckta av det patriarkala heteronormativa samhället.

A melhor fase de Britney está representada no início do álbum. “…Baby One More Time“, “(You Drive Me) Crazy”, “Oops!… I Did It Again” e a ótima “Stronger” são dos dois primeiros CD’s e trazem a imagem inocente da cantora, completamente voltada aos adolescentes da época. Os sucessos continuam com “I’m A Slave 4 U”, que marcou a mudança da menina para lolita sexy em um de seus melhores videoclipes. “Overprotected”, a romântica – e bonita – “Everytime” e “Toxic“, canção que virou mania na década resumem o que poderia ser chamado de “o melhor de Britney”. Após quatro anos sem lançar canções inéditas, a cantora retornou aos holofotes com “Blackout”. Mas ela não era mais a mesma, sua apresentação de “Gimme More” no MTV Video Music Awards 2007 foi um dos maiores micos dos anos 2000. I never actually thought the day would arrive that I would end up throwing something at cunny but this motherfucker had it comming since I came back to school after the summer taking things out of my locker and then putting them back and doing sick shit like that so finally today the book was returned when I went back to the locker after lunch and in 5 seconds I had thrown the book at him he’s so tall I don’t think it even got passed his shoulders and he can’t touch me cause he’s like 6 foot and I’m 5.5 I don’t know I’m short I think well anyway more to the point I will post the 1man1jar with a voice over PRETENDING to be cunny and I don’t claim to be him I’m just trying to do this for myself to feel better he did say some crazy ass whack shit but I had a sharp tongue and replied back with worse sick shit (I can play his mother fucking game) and no wonder I’m swearing all day
Anyway I felt relieved the whole day at school and when I came home that’s when I started to reflect on what I Did and I was like oh my god I really can’t remember how I did it because it happened in an instant I don’t know how it happened it just did I’m not saying his first or last name for security purposes even though he spreads shit around the school about me and my family and friends but what the fuck this video is gonna be so funny I’m basing it on what his personality is like in school because I am way different outside of school I am more calm less tense but I do have those times too out of school btw life is life but why the hell would cunny want to spend the rest of his life wasting it ,its a shaaaaaaaame. Well all I can say on good thing about encounters n a friday evening with cunny I write amazing music no joke I have 2 amazing songs written about this motherfucker but the one I wrote today Is fucking amazing but my most favourite song ever that I wrote is called 0ne More Time oh my god I just love it its like my girlfriend

The 51-year-old told Absolute Now: ‘I just finished writing a script and I am trying to get funding and casting for it, believe it or not.’
‘It’s called We and it’s a love story. It is two parallel love stories told from a woman’s point of view, obviously. One is a historical story that took place with the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. And the other is one I made up about a couple in New York.’
